2018 Susan Gay Travel Scholarship Recipient - Ruby Ellis


Ruby Ellis is a doctoral candidate in Secondary Mathematics Education and a Holmes Scholar at Auburn University.  Prior to coming to Auburn, Mrs. Ellis had a variety of teaching experiences, ranging from middle and high school mathematics to an adjunct instructor in the Department of Science and Mathematics at Talladega College.  She has received awards in recognition of her effective teaching and scholarly efforts.  Currently, she serves as a Graduate Teaching and Research assistant in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Auburn University.  This position allows her to teach undergraduate pre-service teaching methods courses, supervise interns, and assist with the data collection and analysis for several research projects.  Her research interests include mathematical action technology integration, teacher pedagogical beliefs and practices, and professional development.
